Nashville's premier vocal coaching studio. Founded by a touring artist, built for real singers, staffed by working musicians.
Book Your Introductory CallHannah Anders had been touring as a professional artist for over two decades when she started seeing a pattern she couldn't ignore.
Young singers would come through Nashville with real talent and real ambition. But the voice lessons they'd taken back home? They were getting hurt by them. Poor technique. Wrong methods for the music they actually wanted to sing. Coaches with no industry experience teaching out of textbooks instead of real careers.
And even the students who found good coaches in Nashville were hitting another wall: they'd get 30 minutes of lessons a week, go home to practice alone, and have no one to sing with, no community to grow with, and no real opportunities to perform.
Private lessons. Go home. Repeat. For a city built on music, that felt broken.
Hannah knew there had to be a better way. A studio that actually served serious singers. Coaches who had lived the industry, not just studied it. A place where technique didn't destroy voices, it freed them. And a community where singers could keep growing long after the lesson ended.
So she built one.
It started with Hannah, a handful of students, and word of mouth.
Hannah had been coaching privately for years while touring, and as her reputation grew, so did the waitlist. Students weren't just showing up for lessons. They were telling their friends. Their bandmates. Their church worship directors. Their college prep counselors.
By the time Hannah's Vocal Studio evolved into The Vocal Academy in 2022, it had become clear that something bigger was needed. One coach couldn't serve every kind of singer. And serious singers needed more than weekly lessons, they needed a place to actually grow.
That year marked the real turning point. TVA officially launched with a clear mission: bridge the gap between academic theory and industry reality, and build the studio Hannah wished she'd had when she was coming up.
That meant carefully recruiting coaches who held degrees in vocal performance AND had real industry careers. It meant building The Green Room Community, so students had seminars, masterclasses, writers' rounds, and showcases to grow through. And it meant holding the line on healthy technique so no singer would leave TVA worse off than they arrived.
The principles that shape every lesson, every seminar, every decision.
Voices get hurt by bad teaching. We refuse to be the reason. Every coach on our roster uses science-based, health-first methodology. Sustainable technique is non-negotiable.
We don't believe in cookie-cutter singers. The goal is never to make you sound like someone else. The goal is to help you sound like the most authentic, confident, free version of yourself.
Theory only gets you so far. Our coaches teach from experience, from touring, recording, performing, leading worship, and navigating the actual music industry. That experience shows up in every lesson.
Singers don't grow in isolation. We built TVA to be a place where students train alongside each other, perform in showcases, attend seminars, and become part of a real Nashville singing community.
Every coach on our team holds a degree in vocal performance from a respected institution. And every coach has real, current industry experience.
