The Vocal Academy
The finishing school for voice teachers who want to stop improvising lessons and start leading them.
Apply for CertificationMost voice teachers graduate with strong ears and years of training. Nobody teaches them how to use it in a room with a real student.
So the first lesson becomes a gamble. You over-explain breath support for 20 minutes and the student leaves impressed by your knowledge but unsure if they learned anything.
You notice six things wrong with someone’s voice and try to address all of them. The student leaves more confused than when they arrived.
You know more about voice than your teaching reflects.
"This program exists for that gap."
Not to teach you more about voice. To teach you how to use what you already know — clearly, confidently, and under pressure.
Most teacher training programs give you more information. More vocal science, more exercises, more theory. TVA is built differently.
The Floor, Not The Ceiling
What you understand about vocal function, pedagogy, and communication. This is where most degrees stop.
The Real World
What you can actually do with that knowledge in a live lesson. Can you adapt when things go off-script and communicate to build trust?
The Professional Standard
How you decide in real time. What to address first. When to pivot. This is what separates a coach from someone running warm-ups.
TVA trains all three — because that’s what it actually takes to lead a lesson.
From observation to application in 90 days.
"I know what I'm hearing."
You’ll learn how to hear a student sing and know exactly where to start. Includes TVA’s Diagnostic Cheat Sheet and the First Lesson Framework for building trust from minute one.
Outcome:
You walk into first lessons with a clear plan. Students leave knowing they’re in the right place.
"I know how to hold the human."
Teaching voice is only half the job. Learn clear frameworks for retention, boundary-setting, and psychology. Understand why students actually leave and how to stop it.
Outcome:
Retention becomes a system, not a personality trait. You stop losing students to problems you didn’t see coming.
"I can execute under pressure."
This is where it gets real. You teach live students while being observed, receive direct feedback, and prove you can apply everything under pressure.
Outcome:
You’re not hoping your teaching works. You know it does, because someone watched you do it and confirmed it.
You walk into every lesson knowing what to address first and why — not because you memorized a formula, but because you’ve trained yourself to hear clearly.
Your first lessons convert because the student felt heard, felt helped, and understood exactly what comes next.
You handle the frustrated student, the crying student, and the unprepared student without taking any of it home with you.
You stop second-guessing yourself after every lesson. You have feedback. You have proof that what you’re doing works.
That’s what TVA certification means.
Apply for CertificationThis is a new program built on years of methodology. The first cohort gets direct access to TVA’s founder, smaller class sizes, and a hand in shaping the program. Founding members will be recognized as the first TVA-certified coaches in the field.
This is for teachers who want to be first, not wait for someone else to go first.
Every tool in this program was built to be used in a live lesson — not filed away.
A structured observation framework that prevents over-diagnosing. It’s not about listing problems — it’s about choosing a starting point. Your go-to tool for assessments.
The exact structure for how to run a first lesson that builds trust and leads to rebooking. Covers what to say and how to close without awkwardness.
Clear psychological frameworks and language for keeping students long-term. Stop losing students to problems you didn't see coming.
Direct access to mentors. You'll observe live coaching, teach real students, and get the kind of honest feedback that only comes from experienced eyes.
TVA certification requires clear thinking, a willingness to be coached, and the discipline to meet a professional standard.
A master’s in vocal pedagogy costs $30,000–$60,000 and takes two years. It teaches you theory.
TVA’s certification covers the practical skills that degree doesn’t touch, in three months, for a fraction of the cost.
Your application is not a commitment. Apply, have a conversation, and we decide together.
Perspective: The average voice lesson runs $60–$100. Retaining just two or three students you would have otherwise lost pays for this program.
This program isn’t for people who’ve been teaching for a decade. It’s for teachers who are in the early years and want to build the right habits now. If you’re teaching or about to start, you’re in the right window.
Consider what it costs to teach without structure for another year — lost students, lower retention, and stress. For most teachers, the certification pays for itself within months.
If you're already retaining students consistently and growing without stress, you might not. But if there’s a gap between what you know and how you teach, that gap closes with structure and feedback.
TVA certification doesn’t require perfection. It requires clear thinking, a willingness to be coached, and the discipline to meet a standard.
Plan for approximately 3–5 hours per week, including coursework, observation, and practice teaching. The program is designed to fit alongside an active teaching schedule.
The program includes both online training and live components. Observation and practicum elements may be conducted virtually or in person depending on your location and cohort.
It helps, but it’s not required. You will need to teach real students during the practicum (Module 3), but we can help you find appropriate teaching opportunities if you don’t have a full studio yet.
No. TVA trains pedagogy and decision-making, not a rigid vocal method. You’ll learn frameworks you can apply across styles and approaches.
TVA certification means you’ve been trained in rapid diagnosis, client retention, and real-world application. It’s a professional credential that signals you meet a clear standard of teaching quality.
Your application is not a commitment. If you’re accepted and decide it isn’t the right fit after starting, reach out to us directly. We’d rather have an honest conversation than an unhappy participant.
TVA certification is for voice teachers who are done guessing, done improvising, and ready to lead their lessons and their studios with real clarity.
Fill out the form below to apply. It takes about five minutes, and your application is not a commitment.
