About Fain

Most vocal coaches learn how to sing. Fain studied how to teach singing. That distinction matters more than most students realize.

Fain holds a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Belmont University. That's not a performance degree. That's a specialized, advanced degree in the science and practice of teaching voice. It covers vocal anatomy, physiology, acoustics, and the evidence-based methods for building technique that actually holds up over a career. In a city full of voice teachers, having a Belmont MM in Pedagogy puts Fain in rare company.

Her performance credentials are equally serious. Fain has been performing professionally since 2006, including sharing the stage with Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, and Sarah Brightman with the Well Wishers Vocal Choir, touring as a background vocalist with Sarah Darling, and performing at the Ryman as part of Lee Camp's Tokens Show. She doesn't just teach from a textbook. She teaches from a decade-plus of working at the highest levels of the industry.

What makes Fain's lessons work is how she combines those two sides of her expertise. The pedagogy gives her a deep understanding of what's happening in your voice. The performance career gives her the real-world sense of what it takes to sustain that voice through auditions, tours, sessions, and Sunday mornings. She meets every student where they are and builds technique that feels natural, healthy, and authentically theirs.

"Every voice is unique, and my goal as a teacher is to help each student discover and trust their own."

Serious Young Performers & College-Bound Students

Pre-college students preparing for BFA musical theater programs, commercial music degrees, and competitive auditions. Fain's pedagogy degree gives her a specialized ability to prepare young voices for the demands of a college audition without pushing them past what their developing voices can sustainably handle.

Indie Artists & Touring Musicians

Working indie artists preparing for tours, recording sessions, or album cycles. Fain knows touring from the inside, having toured with Sarah Darling herself. She coaches artists on vocal stamina, recovery, and technique that protects your voice across the long haul of a working career.

Adult Beginners

Adult students who are new to formal vocal training or returning after time away. Fain's teaching approach is explicitly judgment-free and individualized. She meets every student where they are and builds confidence alongside technique. No rigid methods, no one-size-fits-all.

Musical Theater & Audition Prep

Musical theater students needing versatile technique that covers legit, belt, mix, and contemporary commercial styles. Fain's pedagogy training makes her especially effective at building the kind of range and flexibility MT audition panels listen for.

"I believe every voice is unique, and my goal as a teacher is to help each student discover and trust their own. I focus on building a healthy, sustainable technique in a way that feels natural and freeing, never rigid or one-size-fits-all."
