Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 17, 2026

Hey there. These are the Terms of Service for The Vocal Academy LLC. We've tried to write them in plain English so you can actually understand what you're agreeing to. By using our website, booking lessons, joining a membership, or buying anything from us, you're agreeing to the terms below. If something isn't clear, email us at [email protected] and we'll explain.

1. Who We Are

The Vocal Academy LLC ("The Vocal Academy," "we," "us," or "our") is a Tennessee-based vocal coaching company. We offer voice lessons, memberships, seminars, courses, masterclasses, teaching certification programs, and merchandise. Our website is thevocalacademy.co.

When this document says "you," we mean anyone using our website, buying from us, or taking lessons with us. If you're buying for a minor (for example, signing your child up for lessons), you're agreeing to these terms on their behalf.

2. What We Offer

We sell a range of vocal coaching services and related products, including:

  • Private voice lesson memberships (monthly, auto-renewing)
  • Single voice lessons (one-time purchase)
  • The Green Room Community (membership-based community with seminars, masterclasses, and resources)
  • Teaching Certification Program for coaches
  • Seminars, workshops, and masterclasses
  • Online courses and digital resources
  • Merchandise

Exact offerings, pricing, and availability may change. We'll always show you the current price and details before you buy.

3. Your Account

Some of our services require you to create an account. When you do:

  • Keep your login info private and secure.
  • Don't let anyone else use your account.
  • Let us know right away if you think your account has been compromised.
  • Make sure the info you give us is accurate and current.

You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. We can suspend or cancel an account if we reasonably believe it's being misused.

4. Payments and Billing

Prices are shown on our website in U.S. dollars and don't include applicable taxes unless specifically stated.

For monthly memberships: Your payment method will be charged automatically on your billing date each month until you cancel. Memberships continue renewing until you cancel them.

For single purchases: You're charged the full amount at checkout.

If a payment fails: We'll try to contact you to update your payment method. If we can't collect payment, your access to memberships or services may be paused or cancelled.

You authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the payment method you provide for all purchases you make.

5. Refunds and Cancellations

The Short Version:

We don't offer refunds, but you can cancel your membership anytime.

Here's how it works in detail:

Memberships: You can cancel your monthly membership at any time by contacting us at [email protected] or through your account settings. Once you cancel, you won't be charged again. You'll keep access to your membership benefits through the end of your current billing period, and we won't refund the current month.

Single lessons: Payment for single lessons is non-refundable once purchased. However, if you need to reschedule, see our lesson policies below.

Courses, seminars, and digital products: All sales are final. These are non-refundable once purchased.

Merchandise: Merchandise sales are final. If there's a defect or error with your order, email us and we'll work with you to fix it.

Unusual situations: If something genuinely unusual comes up, reach out to us. We're reasonable humans and we'll do our best to work with you. But as a default, our policy is no refunds.

6. Lesson Policies

To keep things fair for our coaches and other students, here's how lessons work:

  • Scheduling: You book lessons through our scheduling system or directly with your coach.
  • Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule, give us as much notice as possible. Most coaches can accommodate changes with at least 24 hours' notice.
  • No-shows and late cancellations: Lessons missed without proper notice are generally not made up or credited. Your coach may have specific policies, so ask them.
  • Coach availability: Occasionally coaches may need to reschedule due to illness, tour schedules, or emergencies. If that happens, we'll work with you to find a replacement time or coach.
  • Online vs. in-person: Both formats are available. You can switch between them based on your schedule.
  • Age requirements: We generally accept students age 8 and up. Specific age requirements may vary by coach.

7. Recording Lessons

You may record your own voice lessons for personal practice with your coach's permission. You may NOT:

  • Record without your coach's knowledge and consent
  • Share recordings publicly (social media, YouTube, etc.) without written permission from both your coach and The Vocal Academy
  • Use recordings for any commercial purpose
  • Record or share content from seminars, masterclasses, or group events without explicit written permission

8. Intellectual Property

Everything on our website and in our programs, including text, logos, designs, videos, audio recordings, lesson materials, course content, and the Green Room Community content, is owned by The Vocal Academy LLC (or our licensors) and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

When you buy or subscribe, you get a personal, non-transferable license to use our materials for your own learning. You don't get ownership of the content, and you can't:

  • Copy, redistribute, or share our content with anyone else
  • Post our content online, on social media, or anywhere public
  • Use our materials to teach your own paid students or build a competing business
  • Remove copyright notices or branding

Our Teaching Certification Program has its own specific terms around how you can use our methodology after becoming certified. Those terms will be included with your certification agreement.

9. Your Content

When you share content with us (for example, uploading practice recordings, posting in the Green Room Community, submitting testimonials, or tagging us on social media), you still own it. But you give us permission to use it in connection with our business, including:

  • Sharing testimonials on our website, marketing materials, and social media
  • Featuring student successes (with your permission for identifying details)
  • Including Green Room Community contributions in community archives

We'll never share anything you mark as private, and if you want us to remove something, just email us and we'll take it down promptly.

10. Acceptable Use

We want our community to be a positive place for everyone. When using our services, don't:

  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against coaches, staff, or other students
  • Post offensive, explicit, or harmful content in the Green Room Community
  • Share your account or login info with others
  • Try to hack, disrupt, or misuse our website or platforms
  • Scrape or automate data collection from our site
  • Use our services for anything illegal

If you violate these rules, we can suspend or terminate your access without a refund.

11. No Guarantees on Results

We're a professional vocal coaching company and we take our work seriously. That said, we can't guarantee specific results, like getting into a specific college program, winning an audition, booking a role, or becoming famous. Vocal growth depends on many factors, including your own practice, consistency, natural ability, and circumstances outside our control.

What we CAN promise is that we'll show up with our best effort, real credentials, and genuine care for your development.

12. Health and Safety

Voice training involves physical exertion. If you have any vocal health concerns, injuries, medical conditions, or recent surgeries that might affect your voice, please tell your coach before starting lessons.

We're vocal coaches, not doctors or speech pathologists. If you have a serious vocal health issue, please see a qualified medical professional like an ENT (ear, nose, and throat doctor) or a speech-language pathologist who specializes in voice.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Vocal Academy LLC, its owners, employees, coaches, and affiliates are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost income
  • Damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim
  • Damages from your use (or inability to use) our services, website, or content

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Third-Party Services

We use third-party platforms for scheduling, payment processing, video calls, email marketing, and community hosting. When you use our services, you may also be subject to those platforms' terms. We're not responsible for what those platforms do, but we do our best to work with reputable providers.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated via email or through our website.

By continuing to use our services after changes are posted, you agree to the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

If we have a dispute, let's try to resolve it informally first. Email us at [email protected] and we'll do our best to work it out. If that doesn't resolve things, any legal action must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee, and you agree to those courts having exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
